EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ (click the badge to learn more)
Brittani Ali, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW
Britt works primarily with perinatal mental health, relationships (relational health, relational trauma), self-worth, navigating parenthood, neurodivergence, unpacking childhood experiences (inner child/relationship or attachment patterns/wounds/unmet needs), body-image, people pleasing, perfectionism, anxiety and those who are processing adverse, difficult or traumatic experiences.
It is a special interest of hers to support individuals as they navigate family dynamics, childhood experiences, parent/child relationships as they become adults, including through the perinatal period as clients become parents themselves. She's also interested in supporting neurodivergent parents.
She has trained in and primarily uses EMDR and IFS (parts work). Her work is otherwise informed by compassionate inquiry and narrative therapy. She is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ and EMDRIA Approved Consultant in Training (CIT).

Types of Therapy and Training
An integrated theoretic framework, including mainly systemic but also person-centred, feminist and post-modern theories guides her work. She also prioritizes anti-oppressive practice. She has completed many hours of trauma training including (but not limited to) EMDR therapy, developmental trauma, IFS (parts work) and trauma-centered psychotherapy.
She has also completed many trainings focused in perinatal mental health, including advanced EMDR. Otherwise, her work is informed by compassionate inquiry and/or narrative therapy.
Brittani doesn’t tend to adhere to a specific therapeutic modality all the time, unless requested. She draws on techniques from various approaches dependant on what is needed and what makes sense to her clients. She take pride in being able to flow through emotions, experiences and techniques with clients to truly meet them where they are at.
Therapeutic Approach
Brittani operates under the belief that we all come to therapy with complex experiences that often connect and impact our lives in different ways. Therefore, her approach will always honour your story, and how the parts of it weave together. She has prioritized relational, client-centered, compassion focused and strength-based practice in her role as a social worker. This means she views her work as being able to provide guidance, supports and services according to clients self-expressed needs and/or challenges. It also means she operates under the belief and understanding that all clients intrinsically possess the strength and resilience to cope with whatever barriers they are facing and she is simply a guide or support along the way.
On a Personal Note…
Britt lives in Niagara with her partner, and two-year-old son.
Britt is very familiar with early stages of parenting, pregnancy, and all that comes with that, as she is in the thick of it herself. Britt also has a love for animals, and has a dog and two cats at home. She is a life long learner and loves to hear new perspectives. She also really loves spending time outside and tending to her plants. Lastly, Britt is very much an introvert — you can most often find her reading science fiction or fantasy books if she is not working or spending time with her family. Britt tends to be the best fit for clients who appreciate a very authentic (and a little quirky) but compassionate therapist, who aims to "keep it real."

Therapeutic Approach
Remi's approach is warm and validating and aims to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Her approach emphasises both understanding how our past experiences have impacted us and making present focused changes to help us move towards what we want to be different. In exploring both past events and present focused practical skills Remi hopes to help her clients move towards change that feels meaningful to them while validating the very real experiences that contributed to their pain in the first place. Her work is person centered and uses approaches from many modalities including but not limited to CBT and DBT.

On a Personal Note…
When she's not at the office Remi loves rugby, thrifting, crocheting, spending time with friends, and going on coffee walks. Remi considers herself a shy extravert meaning that although she's on the shy side she also loves being with people and recharges in the presence of others. She prefers learning by listening over reading which means she almost always has a podcast in her ears. She moved to Hamilton two years ago and loves exploring the city.
